Thanking him for translating into French the article from Caecilia on the Nuits d'été, asking him to thank the author of the article as well, commenting on the article, discussing Appy's intention to perform the Symphonie fantastique, noting the special requirements needed for such a performance, recalling the last time he conducted it, in Dresden, mentioning his Roméo et Juliette and saying that in Vienna M. Eckaert [i.e. Karl Eckert] had 13 rehearsals just to play the Scherzo ("La fée Mab"), that Berlioz had 11 in Baden two years before, etc.
